Ogilvy Over Par
The 2006 US Open ended with Colin Montgomerie and Phil Mickelson needing a par four at the last hole to win, Monty to break his major duck, Lefty to take his fourth major and his third in a row. Somehow both managed to take six, leaving Geoff Ogilvy, who chipped in at the 17th for an unlikely par save, to take the title by one shot. As they signed their cards behind the 18th, Monty and Lefty commiserated with each other.

Monty had a four to win his first major,
Lefty had a four for number four.
Monty says to Lefty, I can take no more,
And Lefty says this as he checks his final score.
[Chorus]
Ogilvy over par, golf's not fair bra,
Lala golf is so unfair.
Ogilvy over par, golf's not fair bra,
Lala golf is so unfair.
Monty hits a driver off the eighteenth tee,
Smacks it right into the perfect spot.
Then he takes a seven to get it on the green,
But when he hits it he knows it's just not the shot.
[Chorus]
In a couple of strokes they have lost
The US Open.
With a couple of sixes going up the last,
Just when they each had it won.
Angry with himself he leaves the 18th green,
Monty lets his shoulders droop a bit.
Lefty crouches down and hides his pretty face,
And can't believe he's made a right old mess of it.
[Chorus]
Grumpy ever after with his second place,
Monty's seen it all four times before.
Lefty's had that stupid grin wiped off his face,
But he's got triple major silverware indoors.
[Chorus]
So if you want some fun - take two shots over par.
