July 25, 2003;  Source: AnyoneForTee Publicity-seeking streakers disrupt Majors - website owners admit responsibility Voluptuous streakers advertising a website on their bare skin have twice gatecrashed golf's major championships in the last five weeks, exposing major boobs in the security arrangements for top sporting events. The presentation ceremony for last week's 132nd Open Championship at Royal St. George's, Sandwich, was in full swing as topless 28 year old London resident Laura Gosling broke out of the watching crowd and rushed towards surprise - and surprised - winner Ben Curtis to present him with a victory kiss. Clearly visible on Ms. Gosling's front and back was the web address 'ANYONE FOR TEE.COM'. Police officers however caught up with her and escorted her off the course before she could reach Curtis, and the ceremony continued with the award of the famous Claret Jug to the 2003 Champion Golfer. "Ever since I was a kid, I've seen pictures of all the major winners posing with the trophies. It's always been my ambition to kiss at least one of the jugs, and now here I am!", said an excited Curtis after the ceremony. "And I've noticed, good things often come in pairs, so watch out for me, I mean to get my hands on another one", he added. For runners-up Thomas Bjørn and Vijay Singh, it was a case of reflecting on their own boobs in the last round, which allowed 500-1 outsider Curtis to take the title from under their noses. Bjørn twice squandered two shots in bunkers, once in the first round as he was penalised for striking the sand in anger after a poor shot, and again at the 16th in the last round as he took three to extricate himself from the greenside trap. "To be honest, I boobed," he said afterwards. "I had my hands on it and I let it slip. But there'll be a second chance, and this time I'll grab it and I won't let go." Singh was equally philosophical after the ceremony: "It'a something to do with having these pushy women around. I didn't play when Annika (Sörenstam - Ed) came to the the Colonial, and there was a streaker at the US Open, where I played badly. Now this. I guess these women have something to get off their chest, but I wish they'd go some place else to do it!" The incident was the second case of commercially motivated streaking at major golf events this year. Only five weeks earlier, at the US Open, eventual champion Jim Furyk was approached by topless 'celebrity model' Brittney Skye, who offered him a rose beside the 11th green at Olympia Fields Country Club in Chicago. Ms. Skye was also displaying 'ANYONE FOR TEE.COM' very prominently on her front and back. "I was definitely caught off guard," Furyk said. "I turned around and she was already up on top of me. It was a total shock. I turned around and just went, 'Whoa!' You don't know how to react. I just wanted to back off from the situation and get back to playing golf." He admitted it was an "embarrassing situation on national television", and was quick to reassure his wife, pregant with their second child, of his reaction. "I love my wife, and I didn't want the flower," Furyk said. He missed the cut at Royal St. George's, perhaps fearing just such a repeat of the streaking incident. A spokesman for AnyoneForTee.com admitted the website had set up the streakers as a publicity stunt. "We were very fortunate to have the great commentator Peter Alliss mention our site on several occasions during this year's US Masters, even in the last round as Mike Weir walked from the 17th green to the 18th tee. That was a tough act to follow, until we thought of streaking. Neither of us has the physique for it, so we enlisted Brittney Skye and Laura Gosling. Some people say streaking is just titillation and not appropriate for golf, but we feel it's in keeping with our quirky approach to the game, and it definitely helped us get our points across." Asked if the website would be three-peating the streaker promotion, the spokesman was cautious: "For obvious reasons we have to maintain a degree of secrecy, but I can say we're talking with our key sponsor, Gobra, who've been supporting women's golf for twenty years. They're like us, very front and forward, and definitely interested in the major cups, so we may be doing something together, perhaps for the PGA Championship in New York in August."
