The D.G.C. Coat of Arms

There will be occasions when it is necessary for the officers of DGC Chapters to reproduce the coat of arms of the Club (trophies, stationery, clothing, etc...).

To facilitate this, we give you below a large version of the Club's arms for downloading, and its heraldic description. The latter should be readily understood by all good suppliers of crested merchandise.

Or, a golfer embowed despondent, in T-shirt azure Nike, on vert, with putter dormant in dexter base, under crown Rex Dufferorum, between crossed 5-irons and dozen Titleists argent.

Or: On a gold background (symbolising generosity of spirit and elevation of the mind through sport)

a golfer embowed despondent: a golfer bent double with head in hands, nearly suicidal after yet another three putt from six feet

in T-shirt azure: wearing a blue Nike T-shirt (with moisture management)

on vert: on the green (symbolising hope and joy)

with putter dormant in dexter base: having dropped his putter in despair into the lower left corner of the green

under crown Rex Dufferorum: below the crown of the King of All Duffers (the mark of the "Supreme Duffer", a title won through arduous combat, which must be fought for every year)

between crossed 5-irons: between two examples of the Duffer's favourite club (symbolising his constant search for perfection through the purchase of new equipment - or possibly the fact that he lost his old one in a lake last week and had to get another)

and dozen Titleists argent: with a dozen new balls (symbolising his costly habit of invariably losing more than six balls a round)
